Flower planting industry in SHUNDE can be traced back to over one thousand years ago. The planting area nowadays reaches 2758 hectares, with three thousand types of flowers, 1 billion RMB sales in 2006. Among the 50,000 farmers and businessmen in Guangdong Province, 50% of them are from SHUNDE.
Chencun Flower World is a platform of flower planting and distribution. Right now, there are over 2000 flower-planting enterprises in Chencun Town of Shunde, among which over 300 enterprises are from others countries or regions, including big and famous enterprises from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Holland, Belgium, Italy, Korea, Australia and USA.
Shunde’s farming mode (“fishponds planted around with mulberry trees”) was once honored and studied by UN scientist. Now the new farming modes “fishponds planted around with flowers” and “fishponds planted around with fruit trees” bring a lot of economic benefit and successful.
